Hello, my name is Charlene Munford. I am the operator and owner of Monster Cleaning Services. I started Monster Cleaning Services in 2020. I started as a basic cleaning service with the long-term goal of transitioning to exclusively hoarding and biohazard cleanup. As we continue to transition to our goal, we have had the privilege of working with a number of extreme “clutter clients” and hoarding situations. Today, I would like to share a bit more about myself and how we help these clients.
Hoarding is about so much more than just a “mess.” Hoarding often comes about, not as a choice, but as the result of depression, anxiety, and other mental health crises. Oftentimes, we find that our clients want to have a space that is healthy and clean, but they are overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. That’s where we come in. We understand that it can be difficult to part with possessions, no matter what the reason. With that in mind, my staff and I remain respectful of every client’s situation and work with them when there is difficulty in discarding or removing items. In other words, we don’t just remove trash and clean we provide comfort and compassion through the process.
My passion for this kind of work comes from a personal space, as I have dealt with trauma and depression in my own life.
I truly believe that my clients deserve the best quality of life possible, and because I understand the weight of depression and anxiety, I am able to serve as an empathetic companion throughout the process. From start to finish, I listen to every clients’ needs and concerns and carefully guide them to making the difficult but necessary decisions. Together, we are able to rebuild a physical and mental space that is not only clean but also manageable.
In doing this, I am able in some small but critical way, to pay forward the help and love and I have received over the years — and I truly feel that I have found my calling.
If you or your friends or family are going through this situation, please reach out to Monster Cleaning. There is no shame or embarrassment. We understand living with these constant mental ailments can be exhausting, and we want to be the first step on your path to healing.
